I have always believed that I am here as a healer—long before I truly understood what that meant.
As a little girl, I felt that we all carry a natural gift to heal. It never seemed mysterious to me; it simply felt organic, like something we are all born knowing.
Over the years, this inner knowing led me on many journeys of self-discovery. Knowing it and truly living it, however, are very different energies.
There have been many gifts and life lessons that opened me to healing, but one profoundly transformative experience was learning Usui Reiki. It opened doors within me that I could never have imagined. It awakened a deep, inner knowing that I am a healer.
Reiki is a lifelong teacher—a pathway back to yourself. Through it, you begin to receive everything you are ready to hear, to feel, and to heal. And from that place, you become ready to support others on their journeys as well.
Be filled with gratitude and joy for this gift. It has traveled with you across lifetimes.
Usui Reiki
Usui Reiki Ryōhō is a traditional Japanese system of energy healing developed in the early 20th century by Mikao Usui. The phrase breaks down as:
Reiki (霊気): “spiritual” or “universal life energy”
Ryōhō (療法): “healing method” or “therapy”
Core principles
Usui Reiki Ryōhō is based on the idea that a vital life force energy flows through all living things. When this energy is balanced and flowing well, a person is more likely to feel healthy and at ease; disruptions are believed to contribute to stress or illness.
A central ethical framework is the Reiki Precepts (Gokai), traditionally recited daily:
Just for today, do not anger
Just for today, do not worry
Be grateful
Work diligently
Be kind to others
Practice and techniques
Practitioners use gentle, non-invasive hand placements on or slightly above the body. The goal is not manipulation of tissue, but channeling energy to support relaxation and balance.
